Enchanted Wood Preschool ‘VCD’ runs from VCD Athletic Sport’s and Social Club. We have two dedicated rooms for our Bunnies (12 months - 2 years) and Rabbits (2-3 years old); and our Hedgehogs & Owls (3-4 year olds.) The children have a very large outside garden and Forest School area which they use on a daily basis.
Each age group follows a thematic approach to learning based on children’s interests. We use every opportunity as a learning opportunity and continually scaffold the children’s learning to ensure every child makes the best possible progress. We want children to build a sense of well-being and belonging, so will observe and celebrate a range of festivals and celebrations to understand the world around us.
We have an amazing team here at VCD who are friendly and dedicated to each individual child. Our keyworkers are always looking for ways and ideas to move each child along on their Learning Journey. Most of our Team are Level 3 or working towards it and work continuously to improve staff knowledge by attending regular courses. We are a small team of ten staff, and you will always see the same friendly faces at pick up and drop off, with excellent feedback given about your child’s day when you arrive. We understand how parents may feel when dropping their loved one off for the first time, we are very welcoming and always reassure parents by sending them photos throughout the day.
Our enrichment programme offers each room weekly Forest School sessions in our dedicated woodland area. External providers offer Phonics Stars, AW Football Coaching, Youth Sport’s Development and Baby Ballet. Please see our Enrichment Programme under ‘Curriculum’ for full information.
Most of all we want the children to have fun! We are the first steps in their educational journey and want them to enjoy coming in to preschool and be excited to learn and experience new things. For many it is the first time they have left their parents and building these important early attachments to key workers and new friends at preschool helps them to feel happy, safe and secure. Once these skills are imbedded the learning and development will begin and you will see your child acquire new skills daily. We want every day at Enchanted Wood Preschool to be a memorable one and hope your little one has the best time with us!

SESSION TIMES
We are open all year (closing for 1 week at Christmas, Bank Holidays and Easter Weekend)
Early Bird: 7.30am-8am (available at an extra charge)
Full Day: 8am-6pm
(We require a minimum of 2 full days)
Enrichment Programme
Includes Forest School, AW Football Coaching, Didi Dance, Jo Jingles, Sing and Sign, Baby Ballet, YSD Development and Phonics with Robot Reg.

Enchanted Wood Preschool is now trading as a Limited company ‘Enchanted Wood Preschool Ltd’ which was established in April 2024. This means our previous Ofsted inspections under our sole trader status will be found under our old registration numbers. There has been no changes to the settings, so Ofsted gradings are linked under our new registration.
